REMARKABLE RWANDA IN THE LIST OF 2017 SAFEST COUNTRIES TO VISIT IN THE WORLD.
Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills has been still in the news for the controversial policy of increasing gorilla permits by 100% not until the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Report 2017 named it among the list of 10 countries which are safe for travelers to visit in 2017.
Remarkable Rwanda comes in the 9th position right behind Qatar which is 10th on the list.
The World Economic Forum's Travel & Tourism Competitiveness report ranks countries according to their safety and security within a given year. The standard to gauge nation's safety includes a myriad of indicators, the index of terrorism occurrences being notably the most obvious. On this measure, the report uses third-party data that identifies the frequency of terrorist incidents among destinations, and how many fatalities, deaths and injuries occurred in the same time spell.
In the 9th position is the remarkable Rwanda, coming behind other countries including Switzerland, Norway, Singapore, Hing Kong, Oman, Iceland, United Arab Emirates, and Finland which tops the list as the most safest destination to visit in 2017 in the world.
Rwanda is the only African destination that featured in the list, which is a milestone achievement for this small but adorable African state within the East African region.
Rwanda is gifted by nature, known to be home to the world's endangered Mountain gorillas, and about half of these live in Rwanda; the Volcanoes National park is the only natural habitat in Rwanda where one can trek the mountain gorillas, which makes it a very unique country.
Other parts of the country are also richly blessed with natural phenomena, including the primates in Nyungwe forest national park, the Akagera national park currently known to be home of the BIG FIVE in Rwanda, and numerous other physical endowments and cultural amenities which are associated with the period of genocide where more than 800,000 Rwandese, especially the Tutsi were killed in cold blood within a span of 3 months.
However, Rwanda has come a long way to beautify her image and attracted many international visitors that come for Rwanda Gorilla tours and cultural safaris in Rwanda to explore various museums and genocide churches.
A visit to Rwanda can be extended to neighboring countries such as Uganda for gorilla trekking tour in Uganda, and a visit to Congo's Nyiragongo mountain, among others.
